A travel scrapbook journal for your trip

When you are getting ready to go on a vacation, something that you might consider instead of a pocket novel is picking up a pocket sized blank book. Use the book to create a scrap book of your vacation by journaling your thoughts into the pages when you are sitting waiting for something or by sketching things that you see. You can add in ticket stubs or other mementos of your vacation just like a full sized scrap book.

One hint: if you want to add pictures but it makes the book expand, remove a page from where you want the pictures to go, leaving a thin strip of the old page along the spine side of the book. This will create a space in the book that your picture will then perfectly fill in, making your book still able to close properly.

Maybe get some wax paper envelopes (look in the scrapbooking section of craft stores) and use them to slip things, such as a little sand from the beach or a pretty flower, into the book.

You can also get a small bottle to go on a ribbon to act as a bookmark into which you can put a small amount of sand or something else that is extra special - maybe that little bit of gold you found when you went panning in a stream while on vacation?
