Roadside care trouble on vacation
Something we can not always prepare for while on vacation is car trouble. I have had to do car repairs in some rather poor conditions. Changing the brakes on a motor home in 90 degree temperatures parked out in the desert. Taking the thermostat out of a Pinto along side the highway in the middle of he desert. Trying to repair the windshield wipers on cars and motor homes in the rain at night. The stories could go on and on and only start to scratch the surface. About the only thing that someone can do to prepare for things like that is to learn a little about basic mechanics so that when something happens they are equipped to deal with it. Oh, and buy a Chilton's manual on your vehicle - they are indispensable.
