What if you are injured while on vacation?

I just can't get my mind off that bicycling among the lions in Namibia. I'm sure that there are a lot of things in place on that tour to assure that the lions do not end up picking their teeth with the bicycle spokes of your rental bike, but what does someone do when they are injured on vacation? That kind of thing can ruin a vacation. You are always hearing about people breaking legs on ski trips or getting lost while out hiking in some wilderness they are visiting. There is traveler's insurance that can be gotten just in case of trouble while on vacation, but on top of that I think that it would be a good idea to think about some options for what you would do to deal with some possible problems while you are on vacation.
