Flight attendant accused of setting a fire on flight

You know, as someone that is scared of flying, I have to say that I think it is hard enough to be trying to deal with flying without having the flight attendants torching the plane.

Based on the article from MSNBC, it seems that on May 7th a flight attendant for Compass Airlines (a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines) was upset because he did not want to work the route that the airline had assigned him to work - Minneapolis to Regina, Saskatchewan.

So, how do you protest being given an undesirable route? Why, set a fire on the plane of course! The 19 year old flight attendant told authorities that he set a fire in the plane's bathroom because he was upset at having to work the route.

The pilot reported that about 35 minutes into the flight an indicator light alerted them to smoke in the rear bathroom. Two flight attendants and a passenger extinguished the flames and the plane made an emergency landing in Fargo. A lighter discovered in one of the overhead bins lead to the confession of the flight attendant that he had been the one to set the blaze and why. It seems he had prepared his cart for serving passengers before he reached back and lit off the paper towels in the bathroom, leaving them burning as he went on serving the passengers and waiting for the alert to force the plane to land.

I can think of better ways to protest an undesired route than setting fire to a plane filled with 76 people.
