Continuing my tour of North Carolina museums is the Museum of the Marine, in Jacksonville North Carolina.
Not yet open to the public, the Museum of the Marine can be experienced online through descriptions of the exhibits it will feature, the plans for the museum and virtual 3D architectural views as well as a virtual 3D fly-by and fly-through video of the museum.
Ground clearing began on the future site of the Museum of the Marine on September 30, 2007. The website, which launched on October 3, 2007, has pictures up in their news section of the small Bobcat that began breaking ground for the future museum.
Visit the Museum of the Marine website at www.mcmuseum.com to see the future museum in virtual imagery and even find out about making donations.
