Need new glasses

Okay, after putting the lenses back into my old glasses for the umpteenth time, I have decided that I need to finally break down and find me a good pair of cheap glasses that I can replace my old glasses with. The trouble is that it is an old prescription, as in about twelve years old now, so before I can replace them I need to scrounge together the hundred plus bucks that it costs for getting an eye exam.

My poor old glasses are toast though, in addition to having a scratched lens on one side, the lenses that are in them are from a completely different set of frames. To make them fit in these frames I had to rebend the frames and then wire them closed at the ear piece using staples. That was a temporary fix when I broke the frames of my already outdated prescription just before I went to Spokane in 2001 to help my mom after my dad had his stroke. Very old prescription. It's no wonder I had to squint to read the TV Guide channel earlier.

I'm determined that before my next trip to a convention I am getting new glasses. I hope.
