Patan, Nepal

Indiana's next stop was a saloon in Patan, Nepal known as "THE RAVEN". The saloon is owned by Marion Ravenwood, the daughter of the man that Indiana has gone to Nepal to see and, like many of her patrons, a heavy drinker. One memorable scene has her drinking a patron under the table in a drinking contest that makes you wonder how many of the saloon's patrons could stand to go into an alcohol rehab program somewhere.

Officially known Lalitpur, Patan is one of Nepal's major cities. It is located in the Kathmandu Valley on the south side of the Bagmati River. Belived to be founded in the third century B.C., Lalitpur has a long history that is waiting for the traveler to explore. Designed in the shape of the Buddhist Dharma-Chakra (Wheel of Righteousness), Patan features many features of interest including the Hindu temple Banglamukhi, and Patan Durbar Square, which is one of the seven monument zone of Kathmandu Valley.
