I have been wanting to go somewhere in Alaska this summer, and have been thinking about the visiting the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge in Cooper Landing. We have stayed in their chalets a few times over the years and have always enjoyed our stay. The chalet we have stayed in has a small lowered seating area with a small corner hearth and glass doors leading out onto a small deck. The seating area is the perfect place for someone to relax after a long day of enjoying the sights of the Kenai Peninsula.
If you are planning a visit to Alaska, then I highly recommend spending a day at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center just outside of Anchorage, to explore some of the wildlife of Alaska close up, then taking a late afternoon drive down to the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge to spend the evening. You can then either continue on down to Seward to visit the Alaska Sea Life Center, or drive over to Hope to spend an afternoon panning for gold in the public access section of Resurrection Creek.
