Luggage Costs Going Up

There is a rise in travel prices when it comes to checking your luggage at the airport. Delta Air Lines Inc. recently announced that they would be doubling their fees for checking a second bag from $25 a bag to $50 per bag. Most other airlines also charge an additional $25 fee and it seems likely that they too will raise prices.

The fee is in addition to charges for overweight bags, those weighing over 50 pounds, and over-sized luggage. Currently a second checked bag, considering all fees could range from $50 for a standard suitcase weighting under 50 pounds, to a fee of $200 to $315 for an over-sized second bag weighing more than 50 pounds.

This consideration has more and more people looking at the option of shipping their extra luggage via delivery services in hopes of saving on high fees for additional checked baggage. Me... I think I'll just pack very very light the next time I am forced to fly... or take a car and drive where I wanna go instead.
