I don't know what exactly it is, but I have been completely zoned out and unable to think for ... weeks. I feel, in the words of Bilbo Baggins, spread thin, like butter over too much bread.
I let the fireplace go out last night and actually got a decent amount of sleep too - just never dropped into a deep sleep because of a need to listen for my dad to need me. Woke up to a *cold* house and got the fire going again around noon, the house is now - four hours later - starting to feel warm once again.
If not for the fact that my dad can not be out of this place for more than 60 days in a year, I swear I would take him south for the winter. Trouble is, if I even take him to another house in the Valley for more than 60 days, the full amount due on the reverse mortgage comes due in full.
We're trapped. :-/
