The original Emerald Lake Lodge guest house was built in 1902 by the Canadian Pacific Railroad, expanding through to the mid-1920's when it was at last possible for the lodge to be driven to.
The lodge features hand-hewn logs and stone fireplaces, the lodge is not the place to go if television is a must for your room - none of the rooms offer either televisions or internet access. In fact, there is no cellular reception in the area either, so this is the place to truly escape from it all. There is internet access, and a television, available in the Game Room located in the main lodge.
But who needs to watch television when you have such amazing views to enjoy?

There are plenty of things to do at the Emerald Lake Lodge, including a 5.1 km trail around the lake which can be hiked at your leisure or you can enjoy one of several interpretive hikes that are offered. Or maybe rent a canoe and enjoy a leisurely day out on the lake? If you want something a little more exciting and wet there is white water rafting, or spend a morning or evening testing out the water with a rod and reel as you enjoy a little fishing.
Takakkaw Falls, the second highest waterfall in Canada, is nearby. You can enjoy a warm night by the outdoor fire pit or relax in the hot tub.
