Family Caregiver: the highest stress unpaid job in the world.
When you are taking care of someone else full-time you tend to neglect to take care of yourself. And when you and your care recipient have differing dietary needs, your needs take second place to those of the care recipient. Rather than taking the time to prepare a proper dinner for yourself, you grab whatever is handy and eat that - even if it is something that you know you should not eat, such as chocolate cake or cookies.
I think that it is this 'handy snacking' that causes many people to gain weight, I know it caused my own weight gain. After my father's stroke years ago I was stressed out a lot, still am all too often, and I when I am stressed I tend to reach for the easy to get junk foods rather than slow down and take the time to eat properly. Before I realized it, my weight had gone up and I have been caught in a constant struggled to push it back down ever since.
I've tried a wide range of diet plans and calorie counting and... yeah. I still tip the scale a bit more than I am happy with. One diet plan that I have not yet tried, but have heard good things about from some friends that have had experience with it, is the Nutrisystem diet.
With ready to go food, shipped directly to your door, Nutrisystem makes it easy to make good healthy choices when you need something fast and have no time to prepare meals ahead of time. So stop eating your way to an unhealty lifestyle and find out how easy it can be to eat well balanced and healthy meals that can help you loose that excess weight and keep it off.
The Nutrisystem program works by offering dieters a wide variety of healthy balanced meals. The system works because it offers a diet that is low-glycemic and well balanced with protein, fiber, and omega-3s. Their plans can be customized to fit your dietary needs and with good carbs and fiber the meals help you to control your hunger longer.
With every dollar making a difference I have been looking over their Flex program, which can be $100 less than other plans (about $7 a day) and still offers a great selection of meals to choose from for 20 days of dieting and leaves the weekends (or any other two days a week) free for me to be myself and eat as I normally would.
