Laundry needs to be tamed

I've been working to sort out the laundry lately into "This is used, this is never worn" piles. It is actually surprising the amount of unused laundry that can accumulate, but what is even more amazing to me is he amount of things that are never worn, yet wind up back into the wash hamper.

I mean, I never wear skirts, so why do they keep ending up in the "need to wash" pile? And the tuxedo shirt that I guess belonged to my brother once upon I time. My dad's old formal suit. Some things that my grand-nieces left here at some point.

I guess what the answer is is to throw away the things that are not worn by me or my dad and the things that are not thrown out, need to be boxed up and put into storage. I don't mind the occasional "how'd that get there?" but I do mind the repetitive wash and rewash of things that are not even worn on as regular a basis as they are washed.
