$105 an hour to say "it's broke"?

There is a very nasty cold looking rain coming down outside right now, which has me rather annoyed since I had been wanting to get out there and double check that everything was picked up around the yard for the winter. Something else that I need to get done for the winter is to figure out some kind of engine heating system for the Cadillac, since it does not want to start. I tried to call the local Cadillac dealer to see if the local sales office did service on Cadillacs, I was told that they did, and would be glad to look at it and give me a estimate for repair - at $105.00 an hour.

Woah, wait... what? They want to charge me $105 an hour not to fix the car, but to tell me what is wrong with it and roughly how much it would cost to get that stuff fixed? WHAT THE F!!!??? That is stupid. I might not mind if they wanted to say $35 an hour, but $105 an hour just to say: "Window don't work, might be motor. That would cost this much. Heating system could run as high as this, but would be more if we get in there and find it has more serious problems." And you know they would fiddle about for two hours deciding what all was wrong with the car, so the "It would cost this to fix it" would cost me $210 and I would not have had anything done to the car, just a mechanic sitting in seat saying "Yeah, window don't work. Heater will need to be fixed."

I don't think so.
