Crazy start to a new year and a new business

This year has gotten off to one insane start so far, but, so far, it has also been a good one. As I write this there are high winds blowing through the valley. Reports from my brother are that from here to Wal Mart there are boxes flying across the highway and hitting cars, campers being torn off pickups and signs being knocked over.

Part of the insanity has been in helping my brother sort out his new store. I think the hardest most frustrating thing I have done is to try to sort out how to program a new cash registrar. I have been stressing the past few days as I try to program individual items carried in the store into the cash registrar. Last night I think I finally got it all sorted out and ran my brother through how to use it a little while ago and he was delighted with how quickly and easily items can be looked up and sales completed.

Now I just have to coax my favorite toy to work how it is supposed to. We found an embroidery machine for a good price and I have been working on how to make it embroider names on things and make designs. I put off a lot of work on it until the cash registrar was figured out, and now I get the joyful task of sorting out how to make the embroidery machine's customized pattern software load onto my poor little lappy that I don't think has the memory to run it. We shall see. Wish me luck!
