Curiosity has started on its eight month journey to Mars. As I write this the Mars science Laboratory is a little past 16 hours into its mission to the red planet. Launched using the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket, the spacecraft is in excellent health and will touch down on Mars in August of 2012. And us Mars and planetary enthusiasts can not wait to see what new discoveries this mission sends back.
You can find out more about this mission at NASA's Mars Science Laboratory page, and to see more about my excitement about this mission check out my Mars Station One site where I am launching a 3D manned Mission to Mars in the near future.
