And they call the thing Rodeo

I spent a good part of my early childhood in north central Washington state. I can still clearly remember summers at events such as the Chesaw rodeo, or the Omak Stampede and Suicide Race.

I recall just hanging out down by the chutes with the cowboys as they got ready to ride bulls and broncs.

There is something about rodeos, they just kind of get in under your skin and hang on or long after the dust has settled.

It's like Garth Brooks says: "…It's boots and chaps, It's cowboy hats, It's spurs and latigo, It's the ropes and the rein, And the joy and the pain, And they call the thing rodeo…"

Ahh yes. Long days sitting in the hot sun, watching the cowboys rope steers and bust broncos. I miss those rodeos, there is a rodeo at the Alaska state fair, but it's not the same. Alaska's not cowboy country, is not the cowboy country that I was familiar with as a child, Alaska is more of a pioneer in gold mining state. someday I would like to get down to Houston where there are real rodeos, maybe even get a chance to see the PBR finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.

You can find Professional Bull Riders tickets to events such as the PBR world finals in Las Vegas at TeamOneTickets.com.
