Rain and Satellite TV

It's starting to clear up outside. Two weeks of raining, clearing, raining, clearing... ugly cycle. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't knock out the satellite receiver every time the rain got heavy. That is unendingly annoying. I love the service, wish I had one of the boxes in my bedroom so I got to watch too (when dad's not watching it mom is and when neither one is watching it I'm comatose asleep), but the little dishes just can't take the rain. This flaw of the dish succumbing to bad weather is something Dish Network never tells you about when you're getting ready to sign on the contract's dotted line. I've talked to a friend in the lower 48 about their Dish Network reception and they have the same problem with losing the signal when the cloud cover is very dense.

All in all I like the service though, it's great for situations like ours where there is no cable TV lines in range of the house.
