My mom and I were thinking about getting a real tree after my brother had offered to go get us one, I'm rather glad that he has been too busy to do that, however, since real trees mean a LOT of work. First of all is finding the old tree stand in the shed - we've had the fake for a few years now so I am not even sure just where I buried the tree stand at. Then you have to keep it watered and vacuum the stray pine needles up and I hate stepping on pine needles in the carpet in February.
So, fake tree again this year and I'm not too disappointed. Yes, real trees are nice, but they also require a LOT of work to get them taken care of properly where the fake just needs fluffed and plugged in and tinsel and decorations tossed on it. Then I can forget about it until it's time to take it down.
I do want a real tree planted in the yard for decorating though, keep meaning to do that every summer. Hopefully this next year it'll get done.
