Lovely day with sunshine and autumn tones

It is a lovely day out there today, with the sunlight bright on the autumn yellowed leaves of the birch and willow that surround the garden. Such a shame that I can not get out there and enjoy the beauty of it. I hate the cold of winter, but have rarely appreciated the lovely appearance of the fall colors as much as I have this year. I'm not sure why it seems to be so lovely this year, when in passing years it has only heralded the onset of cold.

You can see how yellowed the trees are in this shot taken out across the lawn toward the garden pond. The empty pedestal for a garden sphere is visible to the right, but the sphere is put away until spring.

I'm lucky enough to have the most amazing view - no writer could wish for better - but all my trees are still holding their green, so just this once, I envy you just a little.

Hi David, thanks for the comment. :-)

This morning was the one to envy, as the sun rose it came up behind the yellow leaves and looked breathtaking.

I would like one day to find a way to catch things on film as amazingly beautiful as they look in reality, but I failed miserably in my effort this morning to catch more than the vague view of the sun through the trees.

That picture is in the Golden Autumn Dawn post I made this afternoon.
