New Grey Poupon Hearty Spicy Brown and Harvest Course Ground mustards

Okay, I was asked to try a couple of new Grey Poupon Mustards and give my honest review of what I think about them. I got the mustard today and the first thing that happened was one of my brothers dropped a very strong hint of "If you want a real mustard lover to review those..." LOL How could I refuse? I spooned a little of each jar into some plastic condiments containers we have and sent them home with him for his family to try as well - the little containers, not my mustard, I'm not *that* nice of a little sister. ;-)

I was regretting sharing after I had tried the mustards, since I really do love them both and my mom, who also had some, agreed that she would be buying more when we were done with these bottles.

The mustards are the new Grey Poupon Harvest Course Ground and Hearty Spicy Brown.

The Harvest Course Ground was an immediate winner with my mom, who said that she would most definitely buy it to go on hot dogs. I was not so sure about hot dogs, as I prefer a milder mustard for those myself, but I loved it on the roast beef sandwiches we had tried it out on. Having a very hearty flavor that I suppose I could best describe as robust, the Harvest Course Ground mustard is one that I personally would find wonderful with corned beef or bratwurst. Made with a basic recipe this mustard's ingredients include whole mustard seeds and white wine. The whole mustard seeds and heavier consistency of this mustard make it a wonderful presentation style of mustard that catches the eye and would be wonderful on hors d'oeuvres that call for mustard topping.

The Hearty Spicy Brown is the one I love the best myself, like the Harvest Course Ground this is a very flavorful mustard, but for someone like me that loves mustard flavor without the sharpness this is heaven. While I found it to be perfect on roast beef sandwiches, I do think it might be a little strong for ham, although I would not mind tasting this mustard on a turkey sandwich (yes, I know it's weird and probably sounds gross, but I like mustard on my turkey sandwiches). The ingredients in the Hearty Brown Spice include horseradish, apple cider vinegar, dried garlic and onions. This is all mixed to a creamy spread that flows nicely onto the bread.

Overall I think the pair are both excellent additions to the Grey Poupon line of mustards, and me and my parents all agree that these two mustards have found permanent homes in our refrigerator. My mom is already planning this week's menu around them.
