Iditarod mushers are still trickling into Nome

52 mushers into Nome as of now, still have 28 on the trail stretching back as far as Elim.

Joe Runyan is one of the mushers still out. Runyan is the first musher to have won both the Yukon Quest (in 1985) and the Iditarod (in 1989). Returning from a 15 year hiatus from dog mushing, Runyan began the race as part of the team for Rachael Scdoris and Timmy Osmar.

Running Timmy Osmar's Iditarod team, Runyan acted as Rachael Scdoris's visual interpreter. Unfortunately Scdoris scratched from the race in Koyuk, but Runyan is still headed for Nome. I'm looking for what the story behind Scdoris's scratch is. Scdoris is a long time dog musher who finished her first Iditarod in 2006.
