Other uses for RFID tags?

I was thinking about my brother having just moved into a new house and that got me to thinking about when one of my friends moved a few years back and the moving company that moved her stuff lost a dresser. That lead me to thinking about those RFID tags that they have for going on luggage. I wonder how those things would work for moving companies to tag people's stuff with an RFID tag so that when things were being moved, particularly across several States as happened with my friend, there would be less chance of misplacing part of someone's belongings. The moving company could simply install antennas in their trucks and upload a list of RFID tag codes for the things that are to be with that load, then before the truck leaves they can get a readout for what is on the truck and know to the box rather they have everything that is supposed to be on the truck.
