Reminiscing over flowers and old cars

I went out wandering the yard a little while ago, looking at the nasturtiums and lilac trees that me and mom planted out there last year and this summer. Mom loved nasturtiums and lilacs.

Walking around I saw that the truck my brother had bought to fix his is out there, a large pickup that he needs the transmission out of to put in his truck that lost its transmission, strange how something like that makes you stop and think about other thing... about my mom's Ghia parked out by the driveway. She wanted to get a battery so that she could drive it and save on the cost of gas.

We were also trying to fix GrandDad - my dad's old pickup. There's a lot wrong with that old truck, needs a rear brake drum and the whole steering rack assembly whatever from the steering wheel down into the console and probably on down to the tires. The old steering assembly doohickeys are held together with bailing wire that my dad used as a temporary repair 20+ years ago. Old GrandDad is in rough shape, but he is a member of the family after all these years.

Then there is the camper - her and I were going to fix the camper up to go gold panning next summer. We had it all planned out what we needed to get to go into it, how we wanted to lay out the inside so Dad's wheelchair would go into it and everything. Right now I can't imagine even thinking about doing that stuff that she wanted so dearly to be able to get out there and do.
