Central America

Okay, so I am easily amused. I was looking at Nicaragua because I was asked to discuss hotels, real estate and condominiums in the Central American Republic. As I was looking at a map of Nicaragua I noticed a name that made me stop. Waslala. Now, I had heard of Waslala before, but as I looked at it on the map, half asleep and sipping coffee, I realized it looked at first like it said Wasilla. I blinked to clear the blur and snickered.

I have thought a few times about how it might be interesting, after I see the States, to tour through Canada and South America, and see some of the sights. I've always been fascinated by the Mayan culture - started studying Mayan Pictographs when I was around 11 years old. I did not keep up on those studies, but I did get far enough that I could read numbers and identify a dozen or so glyphs. I would like to one day get the chance to go see some of those places for myself.

Which brings me to why I am discussing Nicaragua real estate. I was looking at the Century 21 site there (last link) and they were talking about how the beaches along the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua are just like those in California. I remember going to the beach in California when I was a kid, have that as one of my "must go see" destinations in fact, and I think it would be kind of cool to look into the possibility of staying in a couple of Nicaragua hotels with beachfront views while I explore the area. The La Posada Azul Beach Hotel (previous link) is a historic home that has been transformed into a seven room hotel in the seas side village of San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.

The little I have looked at the beaches and views of the area, the more I think I would be inclined to look into Nicaragua condominiums if I were to make it down that way. You can see floor plans for the condominiums that Las Palms Condos have by clicking "floor plans & amenities" in the menu bar at the website linked to in the last link. I fell in love with the idea and have already been thinking about how I would decorate each of the one, two or three bedroom designs to make a wonderful vacation destination and writing retreat.

I know I can't hardly afford such a place, but a girl can daydream about what she would do if she had a few million dollars - right?
