Monkey waiters in Japan

Have you ever went out to dinner and suspected that your waiter was just monkeying around? You might have been right, particularly if you went to the Japanese tavern Kayabukiya. The owners of Kayabukiya hired on a pair of Japanese monkeys called Yat-chan and Fuku-chan.

These primate waiters were apparently approved for food service as long as they wear clothing - so, each clad in their own little replica waiter uniforms for the Kayabukiya tavern, the pair passes out hot towels, drinks, bottle openers and other items needed by the customers, who top the pair with boiled soya-beans.

I have to admit, I have been in a few places with human waiters that I would have been more uneasy about handling my food than I would be the monkey's handling it. And you have to admit, it is really cute to see the two taking drinks and stuff to the customers.
