I've been working around the yard, getting nasturtiums out there and contemplating what to do with things. I probably won't get much done, since I am going to need to head to Washington with my dad, but I do want to do something with the outdoor garden area, put in some plants that me and dad can come back to when we head back this way.
It will be too late in the summer to plant things by the time we head back home, and mom was always complaining about a seemingly yearly need to be away from home at this time of year, so that we never managed to get the garden and flowers going until too late in the year to have a decent garden. Dad and I had really really hoped that this year would be different, mom and I had discussed it and talked about "we're not going *anywhere* in the spring"... but, stuff always happens. Maybe next year will be different.
I'm going to plan for it to be, spend the rest of this summer after we get back focused on installing the faucets in the greenhouse and laundry room we're building, making sure that the garden beds are all ready for next spring, and get the garden shed fixed up and all the tools put away where they belong in it again.
I also need to get all the parts of the yard tractor together and put it and its parts in its shed. That was mom's sole purchase from the money she had got, I want to be sure it is taken good care of. I'll be using it to maintain the lawns and stuff when the rest of the lawn area gets cleared out out toward the road.
