I watched the start of NCIS tonight and could not help but get a sense of de'ja'vue at it.
Slightly menacing music is playing and a fellow is driving along and sees a body in the road in front of him. Stops, gets out and goes to check the body. It's a dummy, looked from where I was sitting like it had a soccer ball head in a sweatshirt - but can't swear to that. He heads back to his car and finds out that the key is not in the ignition. Looks around for where the key went. Turns and is startled by *something* we don't see. cut to show start.
Okay, nice segment, but... I'm a Torchwood fan too.
Cut back to I think it was 2006, Torchwood, season one, episode "Countrycide".
Music talking about "is that a monster?" playing. Young girl is driving along, looses cell service as she is talking to someone on her cell phone. Sees someone laying in road. Gets out with her baseball bat and pokes at the body. It's a dummy, hoodie sweatshirt with hood over a soccer ball. She backs off, looking all around, races back to car. Keys are gone. She locks herself in but it no work when she had the auto unlock on her car. Door unlocks and opens and she screams as she tries to escape unseen menace. Cut to Torchwood opening credits.
Countrycide is one of my favorite Torchwood episodes, so to see such a close match to its opening sequence was very amusing to me. I assume there is a mutually heard Urban Legend in there somewhere to have two so similar lead ins on two very different shows made in two different countries. LOL!
