Chocolate Attack

Okay... problem one when trying to lose weight is the purchase of a couple of marked down slices of chocolate cake when I stopped at store to grab something for dad for a late dinner. ::pounds head on desk as I look at the bit of chocolate beckoning me to finish off that last bit of frosting left over on the plate. It seems to be taunting me with a commentary of "oh come on, you ate the rest of the cake, finish off this last tablespoon of frosting now!"

Logically I know that I just ate a large slice of cake and trashed my diet efforts for the day. I also know that that last tablespoon of frosting just holds more empty calories that would only make the situation worse. I need to sort out how to lose belly fat, not how to add more onto the belly. So... no. I am not going to finish off that frosting, just because I want to prove to myself that I am stronger than the frosting and I can avoid the temptation of a tablespoon of frosting, even if I could not avoid the temptation of the entire slice of cake.

One small step at a time though, huh? that's how the battle is won. One small step (today that is a tablespoon of chocolate buttercream frosting), then another small step, and another until the goal has been achieved.
