My Wish List for Christmas

Okay, now that we have the dream wish list aside, what would I personally like for Christmas? Hmm.... Difficult one. Number one on the list is EASY so we'll start there:

1. Peace, if not on Earth than at least in my family. It can get very disheartening to wake up in the middle of the night in a sudden depression because thinking about Christmas gifts to get people has lead you back to the persistent knowledge that people you have known ten years or less care more about you and your father than some of your own family members do.

2. Writing stuff. As a writer I can never have too much - although I think one of my brothers would argue that I definitely have enough notebooks.

3. Scrapbooking materials. They are great for making handbound books! Papers, embossing templates, inks, decorative cutters - there are so many different scrapbook things that translate into making hand bound books.

4. Quilting fabrics. Even small scraps and stuff. I love quilting, it is so relaxing and last night as I lay under the first quilt I ever made I was thinking how it was one of the handiest skills I've taught myself - since I know I'll never be without a warm blanket as long as I have scraps of fabric and thread.

5. Painting stuff. I try dabbling in all different paint mediums, experimenting with mixing mediums and stuff. Any kinds of paints, brushes, canvas, etc and so forth is a great thing to be toyed with and help me in relaxing and de-stressing.

I could go on, but I am a craftaholic with a love for books, so I would have to delve into things like Amazon gift certificates and stuff like that. This at least offers up a basic idea of what makes me go "ohhh" when I walk into stores - well... this and anything with dragons or other mythical and magical stuff about it.
