11-11-11 the year has just swooshed past

I find it hard to believe that it is already November 11th, it seems like the year has just rushed past in a wild flurry of motion and left behind a swirl of snow in its wake. Fast enough, in fact, that the worse storm in 40 years was left hitting the west coast of Alaska... okay, maybe the speed the year passed with was not the cause of the storm, but it did seem to rush by fast enough to leave a bit of a windswept feel to life.
