Cold Alaskan Nights

Well, by morning the other night that -14 had made it down to -17 and with no fuel in my house heater I was awake all night long keeping the Franklin Fireplace going with small chunks wood not much bigger than most fireplaces use as kindling wood.

I want, really really badly, to find myself a good wood cook stove like my mom had long ago. Those put out a lot of heat and cooked food really good. The one issue with the wood cook stove was that it was hard to use in the summertime since it would make the house too hot, but in the summer can grill outside or use the little counter top grill or stuff. Summer aside, a wood cook stove would make winter warmer.
