Western Alaska hit by major storm
The coastal communities of western Alaska were struck yesterday by one of the most powerful storms to hit western Alaska in nearly 40 years. Residents of coastal communities have been buffeted by hurricane force winds that are expected to remain strong through this evening. Flooding along coastal areas along the west coast are expected to continue until late Thursday afternoon, early evening. The National Weather Service is advising anyone in the affected areas to move out of the low laying areas at once.
